The Ashburton Ambulance Station project involved a comprehensive renovation of the existing two-storey St John ambulance station as well as the construction of a new covered ambulance parking bay, associated services, and siteworks.
Rolleston
It was a case of first things first for the Rolleston Ambulance Station. The Rolleston station required us to achieve a retrospective code of compliance for the client’s building before we designed and constructed new spaces. We fixed previously incomplete work so the building would be fully compliant and Selwyn District Council could process our application for a resource consent for the new extension. The next stage of the project was upgrading the Rolleston facilities in line with the latest operating procedures for a fixed $250,000 budget. Before the design process began, Mike Greer Commercial worked closely with St John’s national, area, and local committees to establish the most urgent or important aspects of the build, and what could be postponed for a future budget allocation. It transpired that providing four rest and sleeping spaces and improving fire safety and compliance for the building were among the highest priorities.
