Castor Crescent wins an award

We are stoked to see Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities receive an award for multi-unit housing in the Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects Wellington region awards. Read more here.

We proudly built 33 houses in this development as well as civil engineering works including earthworks, site preparation, internal road, driveways, and landscaping.

This Porirua East redevelopment provides a mix of social housing, from single-occupant homes to five-bedroom family dwellings.

Stage one

This stage comprised the construction of two five-bedroom houses, one four-bedroom house, six two-bedroom duplexes, two four-bedroom houses, eight one-bedroom units, two two-bedroom duplexes, one four-bedroom house, and one five-bedroom house. It included civil engineering works such as earthworks, site preparation, internal roads, driveways, landscaping, connections to utilities and services within the house sites, as well as upgrades to public services.

Stage three

This stage comprised the construction of two five-bedroom houses and eight two-bedroom duplexes on a 2200 sqm brownfields site. It also included civil engineering works such as earthworks, site preparation, internal roads, driveways, landscaping, connections to utilities and services within the house sites, as well as upgrades to public services.
